Blood Moon: April 14/15 Howling at the Total Lunar Eclipse

You don't have to be a werewolf to enjoy Monday night's  lunar eclipse. On Monday night,  the first night of Passover the moon will turn blood red. The occasion is a rare lunar eclipse, when Earth steps between the moon and the sun, blocking most of the light that makes it shine.

For the science behind the blood moon, here is a great video from

What happens to a werewolf (at least the ones influenced by the moon) during a lunar eclipse?

I have two different series with two different types of werewolves(Wolf Maiden Saga and After the Bane, plus another novella series in the works) so it's fun to offer some fun possibilities.

 Here are a few ideas.

1. They will become enraged and go on a killing rampage.
2. They will go partial werewolf. How do you explain that at a dinner party?

3. They are cured. (Nope I don't like that one.)
4. Female werewolves go into heat and go mad with lust. Watch out human dudes!
5. People who stare too long at the blood moon turn werewolf until the lunar eclipse is over. (I like this one, just to know what it feels like, especially since my werewolves don't feel the pain of the shift.)

Comment if you can think of any more.

I tend to love titles with the word, moon, maybe because I'm a bit loony. Now thinking about my moonish title for book 3.

“Princess Ravenna?”
She flushed, parted her full lips and gawked at him. “Umm…”
Desire bit him like a bloody thirsty gnat. Self-loathing for the sin of lust darkened his mood and he snapped in disgust. “Don’t think you can hide your identity from me, fugitive.”
She shifted her weight and winced. “I prefer, Rave.”
He threw her a harsh squint. “Rave, destroyer of the Bloodstone, then. We need…”
A zombie ape rampaged into the room. Its hideous foaming scream pierced his ears. Maddox twisted and as the creature lunged, he roared and went partial werewolf. His powerful claws swiped through its neck, decapitating it. The ape head hit the wall before landing on the bed. Score! Silence followed. There were no more, at least here. His wolf roared in victory. He turned to Rave, her soft and pink lips beckoned him. He moved to collect his reward. A kiss to sate his hunger. She dropped her eyes, taking in his groin. No! The devil in her eyes cooled his seed. Maddox picked up the towel and shielded himself. He growled, ashamed that his wolf felt the need to protect Satan’s get and then take her as his sexual prize.
Rave flinched at his snarl then batted those purple beautiful eyes. “If you’re going to kill me, make it quick.”
Kill her? His chest tightened, conflicted with warring emotions. As a Benandanti soldier, he was duty bound to execute the raven wanted for stealing and destroying the Bloodstone.

Praises for Raven Moon
Eva Gordon tells a great story full of my favorite paranormal beings, sexy as hell alphas and shifters, and a great new take on the zombie universe where the shifters are immune to turning and want to help save the humans. She adds just the right touch of steaminess to her romance without it overtaking the story completely, but also leaving you breathless and wanting just a little more. Her characters can get put through the ringer but always seem to be there for each other. She creates a complex world of shifter/human intrigue, great snarky dialogue, overall a complete world I want to fall into. Raven Moon has it all–Eva Gordon has outdone herself with this one.

-Bitten By Books Review Overview 5 stars

“RAVEN MOON is impossible to put down. You will be thrown onto a fast moving roller coaster ride filled with zombies, shifters, all kinds of trouble and a lot of love. This is book two of author Eva Gordon's After the Bane series, and this one is just as good, if not better than, the first. Rave is a diva, never without her makeup but she is also smart and tough. She knows what she wants and goes after it. Maddox starts out with the feel of someone who is totally indoctrinated in his faith. He is but he is not the fanatic he tries to be. He knows Rave is his, though he fights his wolf hard ... he gives in to love and knows she feels the same as he. RAVEN MOON is fantastic and, despite the zombie fear, a really fun read.”
